Like many of my colleagues I became an acupuncturist because of my own health challenges that were alleviated with acupuncture.
As a Corporate Manager in my 30’s I suffered from such severe allergies that I was forced to give myself allergy shots on a daily basis. I felt like I always had the flu, congested and fatigued. When the daily allergy shots turned into several times a day, and that still didn’t lessen the severity of the symptoms, I decided to try acupuncture. I was amazed to find that after a few treatments I was able to stop my allergy shots and all allergy medicine entirely. I became fascinated with Chinese Medicine and explored different styles of acupuncture. It was the Five Element Acupuncture style that was the most powerful, and it impressed me so much that I quit my job and enrolled into a Five Element Acupuncture School. After graduation I was lucky to study with the founders of Worsley Five Element Acupuncture, Professors J.R. and Judy Worsley. (J.R. Worsley, who is credited with bringing Five-Element Acupuncture to the West, continued to see patients until two weeks before his death in 2003.) Their teachings continue to be the core of my diagnostic and treatment philosophy. In addition I was trained in Medical QiGong with Master Wan Su Jian at the Chinese Taoist Medical QiGong BaGua XunDao QiGong General Headquarters near Beijing China in 2002. I was certified as a Tai Chi Easy Practice Leader and QiGong Practice Leader in the US with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. I presently teach a Qigong Class in Pass-a-aGrille Beach, FL.
I am licensed with the State of Florida and hold the additional certification of Diplomate of Acupuncture awarded by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. This national board certification has been the mark of excellence in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 1982. Every certified NCCAOM Diplomate must abide by the NCCAOM Code of Ethics.
I continue to be fascinated with Chinese Medicine and am currently studying with prominent scholar and author, Lonny S. Jarrett , at his office in Stockbridge, MA. I am deeply grateful to be practicing this profound and beautiful medicine.
